In Trend:Working from home
Working from home no longer seen awkward or unacceptable as perceived previously. It may appear to be a new norm or new tradition to many but never to some of them who been doing this regularly to uplift their career past many decades, so COVID will never be introduced to work from home to this group of people. Many expressed both positive and negative response over these new ways of working. Honestly, we have to agree on the fact that working from home definitely offers many advantages apart from staying safe at home as follows:
- enhance the bonding with family members
- enable to function physically at home and virtually at work
- able to manage time well between work and home
- reduces stress upon keeping task on time, work on their own pace without too much pressure
- help the organization from drowning from economical turbulence
- the flow of salary uninterrupted
- learning the new modality of working such as attending a virtual meeting
- too much dependence by other family members
- ergonomic issues with little health concern due to excessive work over the screen
- reaching help to solve a task will be difficult
- heighten the stress to fulfil the tasks
- feels secluded in a space
- poor managerial sequence
- salary deduction due to the facilities of operating from home
This pandemic happens out of our control so we have very little say on this matter. Adapting and keep going enable us to service this situation well. So some solutions are listed below:
- family members are responsible to understand and offer full co-operation
- practice some exercises and meditation whenever possible, minimize prolong working over computer
- setup a convenient system to enhance communication
- try out at least once a week physical meeting by observing SOP organize the tasks
- the employer should be considerate about the manpower
Definitely, a difficult situation but we would be able to overcome with courage and good willpower!
