Beyond Mat:Bhekasana

 


The posture almost displays how frog interacts with the ground, so Bhekasana called a Frog Pose or with another name called Mundakasana. It is quite simple provided done at the maximal stretch which eventually helps in improving flexibility. It  is done consistently and properly, it would definitely harvest numerous benefits:
  • open hip joints and reduces strains in knees
  • improves abduction
  • strengthen lower back
However, several cautions should be exercised while performing this pose:
  • because it may cause strain in groin and sacroiliac joints
  • the danger of twisting knees and ankles
